My client had acquired this wonderfully developed Georgian property which comprised of ten individual apartments all of which require dressing specifically for the short stay lets /hotel market
With this in mind I knew that there were quite a few constraints and that each apartment needed to be individually dressed both quite simplistically and fit for purpose as the end users were transient rather than long term tenants therefore my thought process had to be more minimalistic and users friendly – Less decadent and arty……..
Each apartment comprised of a kitchen/lounge, 1 / 2 bedrooms and either a wet-room or bathroom. All the facilities had been fitted on completion by the developer
The colour ways were simple throughout which gave me a clean palate to introduce colour but again, for short lets stays, there has to be a durability to the furniture /fabric chosen.
For this reason for opted to use the following materials; Stainless steel, glass, leather, lacquered surfaces and mirrored surface pieces
The beds chosen were of varying sizes depending on the space allowance however, the king-size beds were supplied with a zipping technique therefore the beds could be spilt to become twins
The fabrics chosen for the blinds, accessories even the bedding in each apartment were sustainable and of a darker hue
Colour was hard to introduce therefore the artwork gave the splash needed
It is of paramount importance to understand client’s needs thoroughly and to adapt your ideas to theirs. I loved this project as it allowed me to work for a completely different target market
Hanover House is now available for short stay lets either for a month, a week, a weekend or just for one evening
