There are so many options to enable us to buy wisely without exceeding a budget and if you really spend wisely you can purchase ‘That extra item’.
We are spoiled when it comes to tasteful, stylish items that are cost effective and inexpensive but look amazing put together with something bought that could have cost a little more.
It can be time to check out different shops but if you keep your eyes open at all time, looking around at the surroundings rather than just ignoring what’s in front of us, you can find the most amazing pieces which compliment the space that require dressing.
Most things in our homes should be a representation of our personalities. If you buy what you like then there is no reason why these items cannot become part of you and your life story over many years. Not everything has to match but over time you’ll find that the pieces bought come together naturally.
1) a great bed
2) a great sofa and
3) a great carpet
A great bed is an absolute must.
There are so many variations of mattresses, surrounds, bedheads but first and formally, the mattress has to be ideal to your requirements. You may also require storage which is ideal if you have limited space.
A great sofa.
Although fashion changes over time, your sofa needs to be of a contemporary style to give longevity without dating. You can buy individual chairs of differing materials to compliment the main sofa. Remember, when purchasing a sofa you need to take into account the size of your room… Whether or not you want a leather or fabric and which room this is for as a sofa for a den will differ to occasional lounge use.
Wood or wool – mix carpets.
Wool feels beautiful and soft underfoot! Wool-mix – Consider a mix of 80% wool, 20% man-made fibres (such as polyamide or polyester), as this is the best combination for an all-purpose carpet. Polypropylene is a man-made carpet fibre is a popular choice, because it’s hardwearing and resistant to stains.
Why buying ‘In Fashion’ doesn’t always work!
My thought process behind this statement is that fashion always goes out of style hence the word ‘fashion’. This doesn’t mean to say that you must steer away from what’s ‘’IN’.
Contemporary pieces are much more likely to retain style and will last the test of time. The main pieces in a room should retain a contemporary style, everything else can suggest a taste of fashion but these pieces can always be changed, recovered or moved to another room over a period of time.
Your house should reflect your personality.
When you are looking for that special something to fit into a space you have in your home, you can find the most amazing things which could be right under your nose…. ALWAYS KEEP AN EYE OUT.
If you love a piece but think ‘This won’t work in my house’ IT WILL…. If you love it then ‘BUY IT’ because most of the accessories we have in our home reflects who we are and our personalities and the journey we have been on throughout our lives.
